It's a Good Thing

So this morning at the crack of dawn (we had to be in line at 8:30), Pat and I had the opportunity, nay, the privilege of seeing the Martha Stewart Show live. Judging by the people we saw in line, it's safe to say that we were two of the youngest people in the audience today. When we got in the door, we got our tickets and then sat in a waiting room for the clapping/cheering instructions. "Mmmmmm." "Oooooooh." "Awwwwwww." Martha must have a big head because there were huge Martha decorations everywhere...Then we were led to the studio were I was surprised to hear them blasting Usher's "Yeah!"...
Here's the far left side of the studio. The marble table at front-left is where she starts the show and then the island behind that is where she "cooks" (aka gets credit for other chefs' work)...On the right side of the stage, there's a fake, yet surprisingly realistic, greenhouse...The amount of lights they have is ridiculous...After the show Martha came out to thank the audience and for pictures...
The best part of the show, however, was all of the free stuff we got. Quaker sponsored the show and we all got a bunch of Quaker products and Obama hats...Everyone in the audience also got $100 gift certificates to lululemon for jackets like this one (or anything else for $100)...
We're poor, unpaid interns, so when offered the chance to attend Friday's taping (also today), we jumped at the chance. So at 1:15 we're heading back to attend another Martha show. More free stuff! Whee!

Dad and I are both so jealous! You know how Dad idolizes our dear friend Martha. Did you wear your "Martha" T-shirt? Oh, probably not...you had to adhere to the dress code. Too bad.

Regarding the freebies...how perfect for two unpaid interns....food and clothing! Basic needs met!

How fun!!!!!
